For the second consecutive year, Michael Jackson has topped Forbes’ annual list of the year’s top-earning deceased celebrities.
The pop star was estimated to have accumulated $170 million in earnings over the past year. Between October 2010 and October 2011 Jackson’s estate raked in a whopping $275 million. In addition to music, the estate is also benefitting from Cirque Du Soleil’s “Immortal” which is based on Jackson’s life.
Jackson died June 25, 2009. This past year, Jackson was second in earnings to U2 among pop acts both living and dead.
Other celebrities on the Forbes list includes Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe.
