Former Houston Mayor Bob Lanier and his wife, Houston Port Commissioner Elyse Lanier have dropped the sales price (again) on their River Oaks home.

The luxurious mansion has been on the market for over a year.  Guess the Laniers are getting itchy feet to move the mega estate as they have dropped the sales price nearly 42%.  Originally the power couple wanted $12 million for the abode but  now they are willing to settle for $6,995,000.

The gated neo-classical home was built in 1988 and sits on over an acre of land that backs up to the 14th fairway of the River Oaks Country Club Golf course.

With three-stories, the home sprawls nearly 14,000 square feet and has six bedrooms, nine full bathrooms, a library, a den and an equally impressive pool that’s perfect for entertaining.

The home also includes an elevator, which would come in handy on those lazy days when you just don’t feel like trekking up the sprawling staircase.

The gated estate has 6 bedrooms, 9 full baths and a 3 car garage
