If you don’t mind the thought of living on land once used by a funeral home – check out Gables Bering – a future complex from Gables Residential.
Swamplot.com reports the former J.B. Earthman Funeral Home located at 5740 San Felipe at Bering (located across from T.H. Rogers Vanguard School) has officially bit the dust. The long-standing funeral home was grounded to make room for a new mixed-use development consisting of apartment space and retail units.
The new Gables Residential complex will be a 304-unit complex built on the old Earthman site. Located in the affluent Tanglewood neighborhood, the residential/retail hot spot will be in close proximity of the Galleria Shopping Center and several restaurants and entertainment locales in the Uptown Houston market area. The 8-story complex will include a rooftop pool terrace with a club room and outdoor living room, with views of the Galleria and Uptown Houston.
The project is scheduled for completion in September 2013.
