
The Woodlands is filled with so much brainpower it ranked as the second-smartest Texas region according to recent data developed by The Business Journals’ On Numbers.
The census-data driven formula took an analysis of brainpower in a community based on 2009 U.S. Census Data for education. The formula looked at people who dropped out before high school, earned a high school diploma, earned an associates degree, bachelor’s degree or higher graduate degree.
Data derived from 483 areas with populations between 50,000 and 99,999 across the U.S., ranked The Woodlands at No. 41 in the nation. A majority of The Woodlands residents have earned a bachelor’s degree or graduate degree. Also ranked in the top 100 were Sugar Land at No. 63, Pearland at No. 95 and League City at No. 99.
The smartest Texas region with brainpower higher than The Woodlands? College Station which ranked 31st in the Nation.
